There are definitely more hunters than deer. Alot (relative) of public land and a ton of hunters. but I manage to be successful on public land pretty much every year.

There is a nice public one not too far from me (Mud Lake). Looking to join the local Sportsman's Club this year - 600yd range if I can just get the CFO to approve that expenditure!
