Scope mount too far back?

Picked up a Leupold Mark 5 for my Bergara Crest 7 PRC. When mounting the scope, I was a little surprised at how far back the scope needed to be mounted to get a good sight picture… it feels like it’s crazy far back. Should I be concerned about that?

I should be able to move the scope on the rail without re-leveling as well, right?

I try and set my scope position for good field of view at max magnification and then check it at lower powers. I do this while holding the rifle, not on a rest or bench. I also take into account that I might be wearing heavier clothing in hunting season.

Most people tend to "crawl" the stock on a rest or from a sled. We are all built different and hold our guns differently. I'd set it where your comfortable for how you are gonna use it and change if you need too.
