never heard of 'em either - for the nominal difference in cost there are plenty of optics to choose from - MY preference is Leupold since I live in Oregon and spent most of my life within bicycling distance of the factory - Depends on your budget BUT the "buy once, cry once" especially for an entry level scope, is a good motto

Just for reference, what was the price for the scope? I have Leupold's on all of my rifles, but there are lots of proven optics companies to choose from at all price points.

in "popping thousands upon thousands of caps" the only scope I have ever had that actually fell apart, on a varmint trip BTW, was a BSA - another "BTW", 99% were/are Leupolds

List price was around 775. On sale for $225. Camofire sale. Just looking for opinions, consensus seems to lean towards NOT buying it!

Kruger kps 2.5×10×50mm
trying to get some reviews, the company looks legit though ….. IF they offer as good a warranty as the others (Leupold) AND you have the time and wherewithal to shoot it enough to vet it I'd say "why not" ?

Yeah,i cant find much on their warranty. We have a vortex and leupold dealer here in town, probably safer to stay with one or the other.

I keep tabs on Camofire, but their version of %off is almost always exaggerated. I’ve seen things there marked 60% off that you can find for the same price or cheaper elsewhere. I’ve often wondered where they got their base price for marking the original price - maybe the most expensive place an item has ever been listed? I’m not saying items there aren’t actually at a discount, but I’ve seen a number of times where it’s definitely not the discount they claim it to be.

even when you might need to ship it Leupold's warranty is what other companies, no matter what it is, aspire to be - warranties on scopes don't help much when you're miles from a road, Leupold has never let me, family or friends down ... ever

I’m not trying to start a riff here, but I find it odd to hear people talk almost exclusively about a certain very popular optics brand warranty. As in, everyone that’s ever owned this brand has used their warranty and to their credit, it was as advertised. But to me - while I’m a fan of Leupolds lifetime warranty, I’ve never needed it, never want to use it, and hope to never find out it’s as good as advertised. It’s there, so great, but I find most folks talk about Leupolds optic quality over warranty. Like deerkiller said, if you need a scopes warranty, often times a trip has just been ruined because of it.

Absolutely, that was my initial thought.
