I have the same issue as the OP. I got the first lite traverse on, but barely got the buckle strapped in the last hole and the gaiter to close up. I had to have the top of the gaiter barely above my boot. There is no way in the world it would fit higher towards my calf. This is over the top of a Cabela's Meindl Perfect size 13. I have the L/XL gaiter.
I think maybe the traverse are only made to go on low cut hiking boots/sneaker types?
