I have recently posted a want ad for a AGC bino harness. I was sent a e-mail from a member by the name k_shooter who just signed up on here 4 days ago, saying he has "what im looking for". I replied with "What model and can i get some pictures?" and he replied with "Hello, here is a Alaska Guide Creations Hydration Harness asking $100 shipped and insured " and the pictures he set were stock pictures of the hydration system and bino pack from Patriot Defense | Firearms / Backpacks / Optics / accessories I knew 100% at this point this was a scam, so I replied "Is $100 for both"?

He replied with "Yes it is for both the hydration harness system and the AGC bino pack. Kindly provide your phone number and location to be shipped so that I can commence shipping arrangements if interested. Please keep me posted so I don't have two buyers on this item. Best Regards"

I want ahead and replied with "Yes, i'll take it. Whats your paypal address? First can I get some pictures of the setup you have and not the retail photos from a website. Thanks"

At this point I'm waiting for a reply.

Watch out for member K_Shooter and others who might try this, I was first suspicious of getting an e-mail rather then PM.

He sent me an email saying he had just what I was looking for assuming about my post on wanting a large pair of kanabs or corrugates and then never responded when I emailed back. I immediately suspected something as well with the email and how vague he was.

This could be a problem for newer members looking to buy stuff who may not know better. I guess my advice is to just communicate thru PM only or talk on phone.

That's just what I was thinking as I read this... I guess I need to post more often

Most likely the person is gonna reply asking for more info and want me to wire some money or something stupid. So just watch out for payments other then money order and paypal, and a seller should never require payment by paypal gift only. Another thing to look out for is incomplete replies to your questions and pictures that look too perfect.

Thanks from all of us for getting on this quick, just ONE of the things about this site that I love is how most of our members here and the Mods are so fast at taking the appropriate actions concerning this kind of behavior.
I have run into this kind of thing on other forums and had very "different" results from the Moderators. I guess they were more worried about their income stream than their members.
Thanks again welpro222 and Ryan!

No problem guys. I do alot of craigslist surfing, so I see alot of these scams and was kind of concerned to see it done here for the first time in over a year of surfing rokslide.

That's just what I was thinking as I read this... I guess I need to post more often
Again new members, just post and reply away and get yourself known here.

Thanks for the heads up.

It's a shame that these kind of people show up here where there is normally 100% trust between fellow outdoorsmen, but that's the world we live in.

I had the same email yesterday and I knew what it was right off the bat. I've never gotten an email from someone here and not a pm. However in my post I never put an email to contact me on so I'm a little baffled on how they got it, unless it's in my profile.
