Looking for a comparison between these two (and these two only). I currently have the sawtooth and like it quite a bit, but I hear a lot of praise about the peloton 240, so I'm wondering if its even better. I'm mostly a treestand whitetail hunter, but getting into western hunts as well. I mainly use my sawtooth when I need a "sweatshirt" - mid layer when its cold, outer layer when its cool, put it on in the stand when it gets chilly in the evening, wear it shed hunting in the spring, etc. I love having the full zipper, so I'm not interested in 1/4 zips.

Here's what I've read:

-Peloton is more wind resistant.
-Peloton is warmer?
-Peloton is lighter. I assume it packs smaller?
-The merino wool in the sawtooth probably doesnt do much good as a second layer.

Here's what I'm wondering:

-What's the hood on the peloton like? Does it obstruct your view at all?
-How would the peloton do with burrs? Is the outer fabric "fleecy"? I hate burrs (and we have a ton of them here), and one of my
favorite parts of the Sawtooth is that burrs dont stick to it.
-How does the peloton fit compared to the sawtooth. I wear a large sawtooth and like the fit, other than its a little tight across my shoulders and upper back.

What does the Peloton do that the sawtooth doesn't? And vice versa.

Peloton is definitely not warmer. It’s a thin fleece layer, kind of like a 100 weight with face fabric.

Fit is similar to me, the hood on the sawtooth is cut in at eye level a bit more and fits a bit tighter to your head.

The merino in the sawtooth is pretty dang good at temp regulation I’ve found, whereas I can get a bit clammy working hard in the peloton.

The outer fabric on the 240 is pretty decent, it’s not super tough and definitely can catch, but not too terrible. Not sure on burrs.

240 is a true midlayer and moisture resistant. The sawtooth is pretty impressive at moving moisture on the insulated portions I’ve found. Better/different I would say the sawtooth is jack of all trades whereas the fleece is just a fleece. I have and use both, the sawtooth is the same thing as packing a puffy vest + fleece. Sometimes it’s good to have it all in one package. Sometimes it’s nice to be able to take the vest on and just run a fleece.

I dont have any experience with the sawtooth, but ive had a 240 hoody, and vest. If you've got long arms the thumbs holes in it will be uselss, and will just let in cold air up your arms. I wish they made the sleeves longer. And the outer material snags / pulls on absolutely everything, it'll look like there is 1/4 fluffs hanging out all over it. Just have to keep a pair of scissors handy to keep trimming them off. Other than that i like it though, kind of feels like a thin jacket to me more than a fleece, blocks wind pretty good. The hood comes up to right under the chin.
