My wife has been wanting a "pretty" rifle for awhile. She has an ugly as sin Savage.300WM we have killed a pile of game with, but I felt like something in a nicer caliber would be appropriate. Bought her a Tikka, that fell flat, should have got a wood stock model.

@wjarrell sold me the rifle, a side safety Ruger M77 that has been rebarrelled by McGowan to 6.5CM.

@ElkArcher918 sold me a non-cds Leupold VX-2 3-9X40.

@Mikido sold me the Alumina scope covers.

@BBob recommended the Montana sling in a thread started by @foxfyre841 regarding classic hunting slings.

Had to buy the rings at Optics Planet, but I tried here first.

143gr ELDX factory loads, got 15 left before we switch over to handloads.

So, a different kind of Rokslide Special

Not feeling the greatest so we didn't shoot it today, we will get it out tomorrow if our range is cleared. She is really happy with it. Hope it shoots straight! 🤪

For the record my personal rifle is a T3X in 6.5 with a 3-9 SWFA, but nobody wants to see a picture of that.

Happy New Year everyone!

I built a M77 in 257 Roberts Imp many many years ago for a friend. That was one sweet little Coues deer rifle. I'm sure she's going to enjoy it :)

Cleaned up her .300 as well.

We can't shoot as our range is snowed in with another 6-10 inches coming. 😐
