I am going to use my raft to access some river bottoms, if I have done zero scouting and have no idea of deer patterns or habit what would be the best strategy for me? I am planning on going next week. Would rattling work? Or just set up a ground blind in a natural funnel. What would be the best strategy to increase my odds of success?

I’d float till you stumble into a bedding area/grass of some kind furthest from public access? Interested what others would do. Never done this, but I spook em while wading up stream and it’s always in the person tall grass. I’d think parking somewhere for early morning and evening but float during mid day?

Focus where the bottom meets high walls, elevation, or bluff gaps. Hunt where the oxbows meet the main woods. Rattling and calls in November are good to try. I’d leave the groundblind at home.
