Does anyone have any experience with Riton Optics riflescope? More specifically the RT-S MOD 5 Gen 2. Seems to have some good features at its price point. Opinions on the caritey of the glass and how well it tracks would be appreciated.

I bought one recently based upon the recommendation of someone. I have it mounted, but have yet to run it through the paces. Mine is a 4-16x50 Mod 5 Gen 2. The first thing you notice when you un-box the scope is that it is robust. It is not a lightweight. Then when you bring it to the eye, you realize that the advertised 4.4 inches of eye relief is very optimistic. The mounting surface is comparatively short. It could be a limiting factor on a long action. I wouldn't want this scope on a heavy recoiling rifle. Mine is on a 223.

The optical clarity is really good. Right there with my Meopro and VX-3. It is really sharp/crisp. In doing the look down the bore rough zero, it moved as dialed in as much as I could tell. The adjustments feel positive. Assuming it does as it's supposed to when I dial it in, it'll be worth the $269 I paid for it on sale. Another person I know bought one and is impressed with his so far.

I emailed Riton to discuss the eye relief discrepancy. I was surprised to get a personal phone call back from them. That impressed me. Sportsman's warehouse has them on sale for $299.

I would be adding this to a .223 also but not sure I need 16x. I would be happy with a 10 or 12 power. The short eye relief might cause an issue at a higher magnification.

Mine is on a 700 5R. Dialing in to 16X does bring it closer, but not enough to make it a non-starter.
