Want to rebarrel my 300 WM Remington 700 LR. It already has the larger diameter varmint barrel so looking to go with a carbon wrapped barrel. What are my best options? TIA

I had a well known smith build me a 30 Nosler a few years ago. The only carbons he would use were Bartlein. He said they are the only ones that always shot well. They are a little heavier, because the steel liner is larger than most all other CF barrels. Could be why they shoot. Mine is excellent.

I have one of the Rem LR's in 300 Win. Great shooter, i use it for plinking & once in while shooting coyotes.

Why are you wanting to change the barrel?

I think I want to reduce weight slightly. Also would like to get a brake put on but paying $300 to do that to the old barrel doesn't make sense to me.....Also I think the carbon barrels look cool lol

Do you still have your 300 win mag barrel?

In a similar situation with the same rifle in 300RUM, tagging along!
Did you rebarrel? How many rounds through your 300 rum? I’m debating buying a rem 700 lr in 7prc but I already have a 7 rem mag and not inspired by the minimal differences. A 300 is more interesting to me, if I had a barrel to swap that would help grease the skids for me to buy this rifle.

I ended up finding another lightweight rifle (28 Nosler) in the meantime and decided to keep my RUM the way it is. Its heavy but shoots great so figured I'd leave it alone until its wore out.
