remington .223 availability

Hi all! Trying to build my first precision rifle and would prefer 223 cartridge due to affordability and also will only be shooting at most 300 yards due to being located in Long Island, New York. I'd like to do a Remington route but somehow there aren't any 223 available. Any suggestions? Thank you

Thanks. Tikka are a bit on the higher end of the budget. What are your thoughts about savage 110?

I’ve owned/own several savage 110’s. They are accurate rifles. I’ve not ever had one to shoot.

I see. Im confused about the actual model a 110 is though when trying to find a SA chassis for it. Is it a model 10 or 11?

Savages shoot good out of the box. I love the Platforms of a remington 700 but sometimes you get duds I got 3 that costed me alot of money to get shooting well

Generally speaking. The 10 is a short action. 110 is long action. They don’t always state that. Or it’s a little confusing. I bought a hog hunter. It’s a model 11. But it’s all model 10 stuff or 110 short action.

The old model numbers for savage were 3 digit long action or 2 digit short action. 110 would be long and 10 would be short. Now they just have 110s. So Technically a .223 is a model 10.

Really? I found remington 700 in 223 back in stock but theyre used. What did you have to do to get them to shoot well?

I had to send 1 to remington 3 times to get rechambered you could not close the bolt with a bullet in there. Took I to my smith absolutely no way quality looked at it. Another went twice as well. I had a 300 wm sendero that would not shoot until we bedded it. Triggers went in all of them as well just to ensure it wasn't me sucking. The amount of time and gas it took costed me so much more than to buy s nicer rifle. I love them now and will keep them forever but dang it was a headache. In the end remington never fixed them. I had to pay my Smith to pretty much polish the chamber/redo them voided the warranty I know but they are tack drivers now

99% sure I’m gonna sell it. The Model Seven action looks like the M700, but a 1/2” shorter and the ejection port is larger on the Model Seven.
