Looking to add something special to your collection from Remington's good ole days? Up for grabs is my like new Remington model 700 1st generation Sendero "distributors special" chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum. It is topped by a Leupold VX-lll 6.5-20x40mm, Long Range 30mm tube, side focus scope with the Varmint Hunter Reticle, sitting in Talley mounts. The scope and rings were bought new by me for this rifle. The rifle was fired 8 times by the original owner, and I have put about a box through it on my backyard range. It's never been hunted or even left my place since I got it. The entire package is in like new, excellent condition.
I believe this to be a fairly rare item that was only built by Remington for certain distributors through special orders. I'm sure some of you guys know more about this than I do and I welcome your input. I bought it from a local lawyer many years ago who said he wasn't much of a hunter but he had bought the rifle on a whim, fired it 8 times, and was selling it to appease his wife. He never even mounted a scope on it. Being a fan of the cartridge, I jumped right on it as I simply loved how it looked and figured it may be something special. I had never seen a fluted-blued barrel on a Sendero before, and I have yet to see another one like it in person, although I know there's a few out there somewhere. I eventually became somewhat informed on the history of these guns.
Although I never fired this rifle much, it shot lights out from the git go and is likely more accurate than any factory rifle I have ever fired. With only about a box of ammo down the tube, I can't swear to it, but I suspect it may shoot right along with any of my several full-blown custom-built rifles. This rifle is guaranteed to be extremely accurate!
