my two burner Brunton stove went bye-bye. i think a valve broke or clogged. i bought it new from REI for $25 when they blew out the inventory.

i fry fish and chicken at home with the thing..outside, to not stink up the house. well, last week it died. it wasnt super powerful, but adequate. i ran it with and adaptor hose so i could use a big 20lb propane bottle. i hate those tiny green bottles..too much unnecessary litter for me.

any good ones? i am sure i dont want a big camp chef. too heavy, too bulky.

I have a Coleman green two burner that is at least two decades old that still works.

That being said I would get the Camp Chef Explorer series if I got a new one. The Boy Scout troop has a few and those kids are hard on gear and these just keep working and working without a single hiccup.

I saw a red one similar to the Coleman, but seemed to have better quality, I cannot remember the name of it. It also was more expensive though.

Primus is the one I was thinking of.

Good ol white gas stove.

Msr dragonfly is what I have. Thing burns about anything, including gasoline if need be.

You only get one Burner though. And it's not a big burner either. But it's small enough where I always have it, isn't a pain to setup and is dirt cheap to run. Gets the job done.

As Elkhunter mentioned, the good Coleman 2 or 3 burner white gas stoves are bulletproof & timeless. I have gone to the 2 burner Camp Chef for truck camping because it's simpler for my wife to use.

I have a volcano stove and absolutely love it. I can connect to propane, use charcoal, or wood. They are defiantly worth taking a look at.

My 3 burner camp chef is awesome for truck camping. My dad had a 2 burner camp chef for close to 20 years that he just finally replaced last year. Yeah, they're big and bulky, but also bullet proof. My wife also uses ours for canning, boils quick and supports the pressure cooker very well. I highly recommend the camp chef products.

I bought one of those Camp Chef Explorer stoves and it sat in my garage for a few years. It was so big and bulky I never wanted to use it, so finally sold it. Plus if I'm truck camping, my big propane tank is hooked up to my heater. I use my 2-burner Coleman propane stove. I'm always amazed how long one of those canisters last.

My Green Coleman 2 burner is 20+ years old - run it off a 20lb tank. Still goes to Elk camp each year and cooks all our meals. Can't say I have tried very hard to keep it clean - the inside looks like hell and has a permanent scent of bacon...but I like bacon. Lights every time and great high/low end flame control...

I just use a cheap $15 single burner unit that runs off propane. Quick, cheap, easy, and lights every time.
