Recommend a Hunting Vest for Day Hikes

I like to use a hunting vest instead of a small back pack for day hikes on local trails and on the farm. I have a standard cotton duck canvas redhead with a big, easily accessible, lined game pouch and maybe a half dozen pockets on the front. It ain’t perfect but I like it better than a day pack. I’m curious if anyone else uses a hunting vest this way and if you have found the perfect one.
