Lately I'm having troubles with my Chargemaster throwing overcharges even when I mess with the speed settings to slow it down. When I hit the target the weight the scale instantly jumps by .2 grains when the machine alerts a completed charge dispensed. It doesn't happen every time but I'm probably operating on a 1 in 5 overthrow for N555 powder. Example: target weight is 44.5gr...machine finishes cycle, beeps and counts but the load then scale jumps to read 45.7gr.
I could see how a kernel or 2 could fall in and bump the weight to the nearest .1 grain but .2 is a big jump for a few kernels that spill after the scale has settled.
I let the machine warm up, calibrate, dont touch the machine, and use anti static wipes. I have not double checked target weights against other scales yet.
Last time I talked to RCBS about drifting scale numbers they sent me a photocopy of the manual and said good luck. I got better answers here and the general consensus was they're junk.
Is my chargemaster toast?
