Looking to possibly pick up an RCBS Chargemaster Lite. Hoping to speed up weighing out loads. For those of you that have these what are the pros and cons you have seen with them? Do they work fine with all types of powder? Do you see any interferance with certain lights and phones in the same room? Any issues you've encountered?

I have one and have only used a couple different powders, H1000 and RL26. I have had zero issues with mine. I usually listen to a podcast while reloading and have a Bluetooth speaker as well near by. Zero interference.

this is the first and only scale I have ever owned but I cannot imagine reloading without it. There are more expensive options but for the money it’s great.

I'm in to see what the responses are for the lite specifically.

I have an older full chargemaster. I pretty much hate it. Its definitely not fast, more about precision.
I can only reload during daytime so ambient light can come thru the window.
All lights off.
Phone across the house.
Can't listen to my blue tooth speaker.
Wipe it down with a dryer sheet.
Set it on a dryer sheet.
Did the McDonald's straw mod
Full setup with calibration every time.
This makes it semi usable.

It hated reloader 25

Im getting less over throws but more then I think I should and this is what really eats up the time.

I get alot of floating. Be going great for 20ish rounds. Put the pan back on and it won't zero. It be 10 grains or something off. Really freaks me out.
I bought the 3d printed mkw pan but haven't tried it yet.

I honestly keep considering getting 2 quality powder drops and really setting them up well as I only load for 2 calibers. I think that's the quick way.

I have a chargemaster lite. For bulk loads it ls fine, but it does vary some.

I find that it throws 90% within 0.1gr of the target weight. The 10% that are out are within 0.2gr so still well inside of safe loads. My lights haven't bothered it, but my phone does.

For precise charges, I use a V3 fx120i combo. If you have the money I'd go with the v3. Buy once, cry once.

good morning mr, B i hope you are well and will have a great day

i am not yelling honest. it just prints it that way.

so my question to you is,,,, do you ever rest you arm or hand on the table while the chargemaster is dropping powder? i had a bud that had sent in 3 units as bad and he had tried every trick he had ever heard of th cure the trouble. once i told him to quit resting his elbows on the table as he waited for the powder to finish his unit started to work perfectly.

if it does not apply to your situation perhaps thsi will help someone.

Hahaha
I'm not really sure. I used to walk in and out if the room quite a bit as it is so slow i get bored.
But I think it was shaking the table. So now I sit best I can.
But in general I'm an elbows on the table kinda guy so maybe.

I don't think so.
I can live with the over throws.
Its the floating that really concerns me.
I'm hoping the anti static pan would help.

I understand over throws. Can someone give a bit more detail on what they would describe as floating?

Mine is the same in a different way. Mine is on a table bolted to the foundation and works great. I have very few problems, but when my wife is home and puttering around upstairs the rate of issues goes up 10 times. I don't see any issues to attribute it to, but it is pretty obvious something has an impact as there is a strong pattern. Could be the vibration, could be some sort of power issue. If it is vibration, I can't imagine the issues people must have in less controlled conditions. We are in a house far off the road with a full foundation and I'm working in the basement.

at br matches you will see literally dozens of shooters set up a simple folding table and use a
CM with no trouble, me included. the trouble i have is loading in a trailer. you have to watch your dispenser like a hawk in case the wind shakes the trailer,

Floating for me.
I do the full setup. Warm it up, calibrate it. Everything. Zero the pan.

Start loading. And say 25 rounds in I set the empty pan back on the scale so it will disperse another charge.
And it will not zero. It will show it has some odd amount of powder in the pan let's say 10-20 grains.
Only way to continue is to zero the pan or recalibrate the whole thing.
But I really don't know what charges were accurate.

Oh that sucks. I've used a lot of balances at work in my day and I've seen them do that before (some very expensive ones too). Shakes your confidence. I check zero every time the pan goes on out of habit, but mine has never moved even .1 grain.

i rarely calibrate. i carry it hundreds of miles and set it up and start weighting. go back home and start weighing. i have a small sliver of metal that weighs 30 gr and i put that on when i start. if it weighs 30gr i am off to the races. if not i push zero and it will then show 30 gr. 30 gr gets the majority of my powder usage.

sometimes it is on battery and frequently on 110v. at st louis i used it under huge 4 cable power lines. the kind that cause induction into your trailer enough that you get a shock when you open the door.

during the day as other shooters are shooting the concussion will knock out a few grains of powder on occasion that will need dumped out and require a rezero.

so, personally i think the CM is pretty rugged considering the thousands of miles i have carried it and the conditions it has been used under.
