Razor HD LHT or other choices for 6.5PRC Seekins Havak Element

Hi all, long time browser of Rokslide (love all the great info and community here btw), first time post.

I just recently upgraded from a Kimber Mountain Ascent in 300 Win Mag to a Seekins Element in 6.5PRC. I live in Idaho and my hunt style is putting in tons of miles in tough terrain, spot and stalk. This rifle's specific purpose will be for taking primarily mule deer out to ~500-600 yards and also whitetail (I used to shoot in ROTC competitively and am experienced at taking game beyond 500 yards accurately).

I've used primarily Leupold's so far (currently have a VX5 3-15 on the 300 win mag) but want to try something else.

So far these scopes are my top contenders, and would sincerely appreciate any insight or experiences with these or others you'd recommend for a mountain rifle with the above purposes in mind. I don't have a HUGE limit on weight since the rifle itself is only 5.5lbs and my suppressor is 12 oz, but I would prefer lighter if possible.

I have a mk5 from your list and love it. I do want to check out that LHT though. You may want to wait until shot show to see if anyone offers something that might be better for your intended use. I’ve heard rumors of a possible new AMG which would have my attention. I had the original and it was a fantastic scope.

I recently acquired a 4.5-22x50LHT Razor. I have not mounted it yet, but gee the glass is clear and it is feature packed for the weight of it. Its not a tactical scope nor was it meant to be, its a cross over scope that gives you some of the benefits of the 100% tac scope that should be more than enough for humane hunting shots. If it proves to be 100% reliable Vortex will sell a gazillion of them I think. Its 21oz pretty damn good, my little nxs 2.5-10x32 weighs 19oz.....if it is as reliable then its a no brainer.

I have an LHT right now and they are amazing optics for weight savings, features, and quality. If a little more weight or a specific feature on the Leupold is more liked they are amazing as well. Both have crisp glass. My main hunting rifles all wear LHTs and my longer range precision set up most likely is a MK5. It’s one of those can’t go wrong scenarios.

Swarovski 3.5 - 18x44 is what is going on my Havak Element. 15.9 oz is the lightest scope you will find in this magnification. A comparable Leupold v5 weighs about 19.7 oz. With the swaro get the BT version and you can set preset on the elevation dial for specific yardages or you can pay $129.00 from Outdoorsman and get a custom dial just like Leupold CDS system. Need more long range than 600-700 yards, Remove the zero stop…

I’ve had both the LHT (3-15x42) SFP and the Mark 5. I sold the LHT to get the Mark 5. Not that I disliked it, I just wanted to get into a FFP and what I thought would be slightly higher end. I cross shopped Nightforce. Decided against the NX8 due to finicky eye box complaints. The ATACR seems to be well liked. Just a touch heavier than both others.

With a swfa 3x9 on my element and a ultra 5 can I’m at 7.5lbs. It’s a great scope in that app and fairs much better than the Leopold or vortex on rockslides drop test.

My element wears an lrhs 3-12×. Have 2 of the originals and they have been great scopes.

Put your money towards a nightforce man. I wouldn’t consider the other two you have listed.

I have a LHT on my 6.5 prc and haven’t had any issues. It returns to zero when dialling, rides in the back seat of my truck or on my atv and has yet to change poi. Some guys hate them but I’ve been impressed.
