Took my latest acquisition to the range today. I only received it yesterday & my thinking was that if it's accurate enough with the loads I already have made up, I'm going to try to use it for an antelope doe this weekend in Wyoming.
I have access to well used private land & the pronghorn seem to be fairly used to people & out of the 4 I've taken there over the years, only one was beyond 100yds. I figure I can limit myself to that as a maximum range, so 0.001moa isn't 'that' critical. Shots 1-3 patterned on the right with a good bit of vertical stringing. Shots 5-8 centered nicely, after some adjustment & getting used to the trigger pull.....

Bearing in mind it IS a 7lb trigger......

I'm shooting a 510gn .459 bullet cast of 19:1 lead tin alloy at 1185fps out of this very nice, all original 1873 trapdoor.

Can't wait to get it wet!

I like oddball guns and hunting with them. I think this definitely counts as that. Good luck with your hunt.
