Got a call from a mate saying he was heading in to check out one of the spots we both hunt and asked if I wanted to tag along for the afternoon.
He had an hour's head start and was waiting for me near the top of the creekhead, We made a plan to check out a small drainage that we had glassed into but never been up. Access was limited for as long as I can remember as there was a heap of stinging nettle to climb around but a big storm had cleaned it out.
It's normally quite a productive glassing spot but with limited shooting options to many of the slips. But on this trip, we only saw a couple of deer out and about, and it was right on dark.
One Hind and her yearling were feeding out on a slip, we could see something was up with the yearling and she had broken her back leg,
She was standing broadside at 430 yards and Tim made a great shot dumping her in her tracks with his T3 remmag.
Will head back into that general area in a few weeks for a couple of days.
Cheers
Shane
