I’m gonna be in Orlando for work here in January and I’m gonna have 2 days to try and get a hog hunt in, anyone here have a suggestion on outfitter to try and get a hog with a bow. Not too thrilled with doing a high fence operation but obviously with one day to do it I need the best chance at success.

I dont hunt around Orlando, but there are some hog outfitters not too far. I am in Jacksonville and have been in clubs but usually hunt local ish WMA now. Public land hunting is very challenging in FL, but I can give you some pointers if you go that route.

Questions to ask a potential outfitter:

-understand the fee structure, some places (many) advertise pricing for a meat hog which they draw the line at like 80lb sometimes and a “trophy” fee if its larger than 120lb. Some of those trophy fees can be high.

-property size and number of stands, total number of hunters on property

-skinning/cleaning fee if you dont want to do it yourself

Ive never used a hog outfitter, but I have heard some pleasant tales and some horror stories.

There is a free range hog bait setup off sr 44 between new smyrna beach and DeLand. Near volusia county sportsmans club. Did this w my uncle, seen a handful of hogs. We each ahot one.

You can alao find some airboat hunters on st johns river. Catch dogs out of airboat.

Im not familiar w high fence hogs around orlando.

Don't be in a hurry to hunt a hog.

Shootin' them is a different matter.

You'll be better off on a bow forum than here. But the bias against pay-to-hunt is strong.

I don't range that far south, so not much help.
