Puffy Function Question

So in thinking through my system, I have a stone glacier grumman jacket. Its a little big on me... I'm normally a medium but went with large. I keep going back and forth on keeping the large or going for a medium. Keeping the large makes sense if I wear it over a base layer, mid layer fleece, and maybe my peleton 240. However, I hate baggy jackets and wonder if a medium just makes more sense. So for those who run a puffy, or are you running more of a fitted puffy or baggy to wear over layers? I hope that makes sense....

Thanks for the feedback.

I had a baggy puffy and got rid of it in favor of a more fitted feel. If your not comfortable it’s just going to wear on you.

Same as above. I have a medium uncomphagre and it fits me well. Baggy jackets always feel awkward.

fashion aside, a puffy is often pulled on over what you're wearing when stopped for a break, lunch, glass etc or simply worn in camp when inactive

it's not a garment designed to be worn while moving- a base layer, mid-layer, windshirt are

if you're swimming in it, by all means size down- if it fits comfortably over a few active layers, it's cut like it should be

Thanks for the replies my friends. I was afraid someone might assume I was concerned about fashion...I am not at all. Just from a function standpoint. Thanks again!!

I have the SG Grumman as well in Large. It’s
A bit big on me but I always have layers under and when I do I can even put my Sitka Cloudburst without feeling like a scuba diver. Stick with the LG. I think the medium will be too tight. There’s no give/stretch in the puffy’s
