Hey all,
I have searched back through a lot of threads (some even recently) with regard to proper gun cleaning. However, after my recent elk hunt, my S&W629 was in the rain every single day. I dont shoot a lot (when I do its usually sunny...one of the few benefits of living in CA). After having my gun soaked for almost a week, what extra cleaning/maintenance should I do?

I just use a rag with break free and wipe down the whole gun and make sure I run a few patches through the bore.

After moose season (getting rained on 20 of 30 days), I take rifles out of the action and use the rag and break free on all the exterior surfaces and bolt then make sure the barrel has some sort of cleaner through it.

Nothing major.

Great! Thanks for the help

Step one is get the S&W screwdriver bits from Brownell's so you don't bugger a screw head. Taking a S&W revolver down to clean and lube internally isn't anything out the way.
