Primer Pocket Cleaning

Scratches don't matter. Leaving then dirty won't matter either. I do still clean them because I'm ritualistic and it takes 1 second on my brass prep motor

Among this forum and others there's hundreds of threads on this to be honest.

Significant is as significant does. .5 inches to .4 inches is a 20% reduction.

Hodgdon 26th edition: Statistically they used 10 groups of 5 shots.
.22-250: 1.17" down to .6." 65% reduction
.243 Win 1.11" down to .81". 27 % reduction
.280 Rem 1.44 down to 1.18. 18% reduction
.338 Win Mag 1.39" down to .96". 31% reduction

I'll take every bit I can get. However, I have not done a before, and after so to speak on my own. IMO, it speaks for itself if a guy wants to do the little bit of extra prep.

I clean them, uniform them, debur inside and outside. Lol

I’m ocd.

I doubt any of it matters. Most of my deer kills are under 50 yards. So it doesn’t matter. Lol

I'm going to actually stop cleaning mine after reading this... It has always felt stupid to me as long as I can see through the primer hole.
