Prairie Dogs

Anyone know of a good place to shoot p-dogs near Pierre, SD? Hoping to take my 2 boys out there in 2 weeks. Just looking for an afternoon and morning shoot. I am familiar with Fort Pierre park. Just looking for a less crowded venue. Time is tight. Willing to pay. Thanks.

Go on ONX and you can actually select a Prairie Dog layer. zoomed out it gives you general ranges but if you actually zoom in on a individual Prairie Dog will reveal a town. There are a a bunch of them in that area on the Natl Grasslands...Give the Buffalo Gap Natl' Grassland office a call I'm sure they will help. South Dakota Game and Fish has a bunch of information.

The plague has ruined the P.D. hunting in a bunch of areas the last couple of years. Is The grassland in SD still plague free???
