My daughter is going on an extended, solo backpacking trip. I have convinced her to carry a gun with her.

I'm looking for a pouch that will attach to the hip belt of her backpack. I've seen a lot of them that close with a zipper. I'd prefer one that closes with velcro or magnets.

Any suggestions? The pistol will be small. (Snub nosed revolver.)

Hmmmmm. May want to check the legality of carry where she is going.

Also, make sure she is smart about maintaining positive control over the pack for both security and safety. Pilferage or just plain carelessness could lead to an unfortunate outcome.

I would prefer someone to carry concealed in a small fanny pack worn below their waist belt so the gun stays on them when the pack is off. More secure and more likely to be accessible if needed. Also easier to take in a tent or sleeping bag inconspicuously.

If she carries, make sure she pairs the gun with a good reliable light like an EB1 from surefire.

How about the safepacker? I havees never used one but looks like it would work for her.

The badlands rangefinder pouch fits your requirements. My wife used one on her shoulder strap for a couple years. Magnetic closure. Sort of a universal attachment webbing on the back. She kept a camera and calls in it but it’s big enough for a snubby.

Hill People Gear Snubby Kit Bag.

I love my Kit Bag. It would fit under her pack and if she slides off the pack, it's still there on her chest. That saying, I just realized I don't know how a Kit Bag works with a woman's breasts. It would depend on how busty she is.
