Has anyone used pirate ship to ship a rifle?
Curious of the legalities.
Only shipping options are usps and ups

I've never used pirate for guns....but these guys are right in the hunt for price and that's their business.

If it’s over 13lbs total weight forget about it. That’s the max weight they will ship. I was going to use them this past week but I exceeded the weight restriction. Otherwise, they are good to go and it’s an easy process.

Other alternative, which I used, was having my local gun dealer ship it. Saved me hundreds of dollars and a lot of headache compared to regular UPS or USPS.

13 lbs so right at the limit. I've read UPS is a hassle to deal with but didn't plan on declaring the details. Just box and ship

I used pirate ship to send one it to have it cut and threaded. Didn't do anything different except added insurance and signature confirmation. I think I actually dropped that one off at UPS Store but sometimes if I have a delivery coming I'll catch UPS and hand it off to them.
Edit: It's not hazmat so don't need the ORM-D tags or any of that.

If it gets lost the insurance won’t help. When they ask what it was that you shipped when you file a claim, then you’re screwed.
