Excited to do my first backcountry camp this year for bear/deer and would like to see some camps ya'll have had in the past since I'm jonesin pretty hard about it and I can only drop so many pins in onX. Any and all camps are welcome, doesn't necessarily have to be in the backcountry.

We were in short sleeves at 1100 this day, then a storm moved in. we both filled our cow tags the next morning in knee deep snow.

Not the greatest quality photo, but it's one I'll hold dear forever. This was the last elk hunt my grandfather was able to go on. He's still alive, just isn't up for hiking into the high country anymore. He was 74 in this photo taken at our camp 4 miles in from the trailhead.

Haha I was thinking the same thing but then you see the smaller trees and how much they curve to the sky from being pushed over by snow when they were little.

Your pic reminds me of reading about SOG guys in Vietnam tying themselves off to trees in order to sleep in steep terrain.

ya, back in Nam. Ha ha, this spot had the least amount of deer sign So as not to disrupt and it was close to the saddle I wanted to crest in the morning. Worked out to be a good overnight spot.
