I realize this might not seem like a very important component of your bow, but I would like to hear what peep sight you're using. Maybe it would be better to ask are there certain brands to avoid?

I ve been using the G5 titanium Meta peep for the past couple years. Its strong, lightweight and I don't have to worry about breaking a piece of tubing.

The larger size G5 peeps have collapsed in the past on shorter heavier poundage bows. The smaller diameter peeps have all been fine. It is a good peep overall.

I'm not a big fan of any color of peep other than black. Messes with my eye and I can't get a good sight picture. I run a 3/16" Tru Peep in my set up.

I've "heard" of the G5 Meta cutting strings. Does anyone have first hand experience with this? Maybe just a bad batch of peeps? I've personally never seen it.

They had issues 5+ years ago based on commentrary from a friend who ran a shop at the time, but I have to assume they have fixed it by now based on the popularity of the product.

Tru-peep has been the brand of choice for me for as long as I can remember, for no reason other than habit.

The original blue meta peeps I haven't seen that happen. Seen plenty of the older blue 1/4" ones oval out over time. The new titanium ones though I would not recommend. The edges are very sharp and I have seen them cut a couple of strings.

I really like the red meta peep in 3/16" for some reason the red against the flourescent green sight ring on my MBG sight really stand out and are very easy to align

Had 5/16 Meta peep cut 2 sets of strings, went w/specialty 5/16 guarenteed not to cut strings, problem solved.

I have had a 1/4 g5 snap my bow in hand. Hoyt factory string and two weeks later I was shooting with my buddy and his same 1/4 g5 snapped a hour factory string. I have been using RAD 1/4 peeps since. No issues and easily visible smoother edges compared to the other ones mentioned

I'm currently using a 1/8" RAD peep in hunter green but have used many others including the G5 with out incident. On a side note on any peep color than black I take a sharpie and blackout the inner section of the peep to get the same affect as a black peep.

Just put in a G5 titanium earlier this summer with a new string and it cut my string. Replaced the string and sanded the peep a lil to get rid of burs and stuck it back in the 2nd new string.... Well, here I am 2 weeks from heading up to Colorado and my string is cutting again. Going to have to put in another new string this week. Needless to say, that G5 titanium will be heading to the trash. 3 strings in 3 months. However, I have a red G5 meta that had been on the bow for a couple years that the titanium replaced and never had a problem. I will be putting that one back in.

Ne... For what's it's worth my string snap was a 1/4 red g5 since you already have to swap it out. Please put in a different peep. I don't want to read that horror story at full draw on the whopper you saw scouting and so on and so on. :) I do know a lot of people that run g5 with no problem. But just in this one topic alone is enough for me to never take the chance again! One less thing to worry about a little more focus on task at hand ;)

Wow, I am suprised nobody has said Specialty Archery. Great Peeps, can use clarifiers/verifiers and have screw in inserts to change the OD to match your sight housing.
