I have a pair of First Lite Catalyst Foundry pants. I really like them but they're too warm most of the time. I like how the cargo pockets are on the front of the thighs. Less rubbing as I'm walking if I put anything in there.

Does anyone make a lighter pair of pants that's similarly designed? Side zips would be a plus too.

Sitka Intercept is a great option. Has the side zips to let some air in if needed.

I've had sitka Timberline and mountain pants in the past. Wasn't super impressed with the material and how well it held up. Do you see the intercept being any more durable?

The new outdoor vital pants appear to have the pocket more forward on the thigh.

I have been happy with the durability so far. I don't own Mountain or timberlines to compare them... these aren't a super heavy duty pant, but that is what I was after personally. I wanted the option to wear with and without a base layer. Hope that helps!

First Lite Corrugate Foundry pants are lighter weight than the catalyst and feature the front pockets and side zips if you want to stick with First Lite.

I wear these most of the time, switch to Catalyst later in season
