I posted a stock I repainted a few days ago and got several favorable comments. Thanks. That gun has an olive green bolt, action and brake. I have another that has a grey bolt, action and brake. It is painted a dark grey with white and black marbling.

The next gun has a matte black bolt, action and brake with a proof barrel. I have tried 4-5 mixes so far none of which jump out to me as that is the one. I am trying to avoid green and grey to make this one different. So what do you think? What colors. I want it to be marbled. If you have a favorite on the web, upload it. I have tried a couple browns, a lighter grey and and even another shade of green which I want to avoid. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hunting in Texas I prefer to have a lot of tan in my paint job.

My first attempt was borne out of boredom of Covid August 2020 ... I wanted to pain a McMillan stock and decided to test my skills first on the Remington tupperware stock, liked the result and turned around and did the McMillan as soon as the first one was done. Both are similar in color and shown here:

Here are some samples I painted on buckets. I don’t have any one that just says “heck yes” this is it. I am on my 4th or 5th bucket getting better each time. What do you like.

Ignore the amount of marble paint. I can adjust that when I actually paint. Some of these are a little light on marble.

The color that is on the stock now is good. My problem is I am always trying to make things a little better.

Good lookin’ boomstick man!
Thanks. I did not want grey nor did I want just brown. I have three of these rifles. A dark grey with black and white webbing with grey action, brake etc and the one with a green stock I painted and posted in another thread that has green action, brake etc.

I was having trouble getting a combo that I liked with the black action and black and grey barrel that I liked and which was different than the other two. It took some trial and error on about 6 five gallon buckets, but this turned out really well. As said the pics do not do it justice.
