My wife and I have been buying points in Colorado for almost 10 years in almost every animal. Seeings how the draw is changing and I was told by a wild life officer last year it’s better to burn them now the plan is to burn my wife’s mule deer points and just focus on her getting a hell of a deer because that’s what she really wants. (She has a P&Y elk she shot with her bow on an diy private land hunt). After speaking with a hunt planner it was suggested that we burn her points in and around this area for 4th rifle. Before I do, does anyone care to share some insight on this area? Mainly, is it worth almost 10 years of points for my wife to get on a really really nice mature mule deer. Hopefully 180”+. Are there other areas worth looking into that anyone cares to share for my wife’s sake. We will start buying in other states and do a rotation for mule deer and most likely elk as well starting this year. Mule deer will be Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. Those will be 3-5 years out.

Please pm me if you’re going to offer specifics like units. The clock is ticking on entering the draw and it’s a lot of points to burn. I hunted 25/26 last year on a left over tag and that was a shit show…. The number of hunters was insane.
