I'm terrible at pics compared to most of you guys but 2022 deer hunt. 3 for 3.

Halfway point looking up:

If you look closely enough, you can see my 2 buddies below me. 2k ft elevation in less than 2 miles. What made it horrendous though wasn't the terrain, it was the heat. Temps were 85 degrees and you can see how little of shade there is. Definitely worst part of the hunt was the heat.

Haha! that is exactly why! The unit I took that bull gets more than its fair share of road hunters and it was sounding like WWIII that week so I wasn't taking any chances.

For a first deer/elk it still can be cool to do a euro mount even if it's a cow/doe. My first deer was a doe and we did a euro mount on the entire skull including lower jaw and its actually a pretty cool tabletop/nightstand ornament. Good for the memories of my first deer.
