WHat would everyone put on a new bow? Sights, Peep, stabalizer....

The bow is a creed xs and I hunt the high country for Deer and Elk so the weight is an issue.

I bought a PSE Freak SP a few months ago and with hunting season taking all my time I still haven't set it up yet. But......I will be putting a QAD HDx rest on it, SH Hunter 7-pin sight, 8 or 10" B-stinger stabilizer, and my usual Fletcher peep. Looking forward to shooting it.

Go with what "speaks" to you...so much of archery is mental and you need to be confident in what you shoot and accessories you pick. Tons of great products out in the market now days.

Hamskea versa rest, CBE Tek Hybrid I prefer the 5 pin, two piece quiver. Stabilizer is pretty personal as far as weight, how much, and where you like it. Try shooting it without one for a while. You may find you don't even need a stab.

After 5 bows and trying many components, these are my favorites:

1. MBG Pure Gold custom 4 pin slider with 4 inch dovetail
2. Tightspot quiver
3. Fuse carbon blade 8.5 inch stab
4. Limbdriver Pro-V, but going back to a QAD HDX on my new Obsession.

I will be outfitting a new bow soon so I am watching this thread closely. I had everything pretty much picked out the only thing that I may have changed my mind on is the rest. I was thinking of a rip cord but it looks like QAD has a ton of fans so I may have to take a closer look at that as well. But here is what I was thinking:

1. MBG Ascent custom 4 pin slider on 4 inch dovetail.
2. Tight Spot Quiver.
3. 8 Inch Bee Stinger stabilizer.
4. Rip Cord Red Rest.

MBG Ascent 3 pin slider
Limbdriver rest.
Anchor site instead of a peep- if you like trying new things!
I've tried about every quiver on the market. None of them are like shooting without one not even the tight spot. If you are going with a quiver the tight spot is as good as it gets IMO but having a pack quiver or something similar is better for long shots IMO.

Scot

AXT Titanium Recon rest or the Hamskea.
Spot Hogg tommy hogg sight.
Tightspot quiver or Rage quiver
Dead Center Stabilizer or Stokerized SS1

Trophy taker Smackdown rest and Montana black gold ascent 5 pin regular mount. Quiver will be a one or two piece dual gripper like a hoyt or fuse 6 arrow

I used to love the MBG sites (own several), they are great except I was never happy with how the pins were adjusted. Always seemed there was too much room for error having to move them with your fingers. When I tried the Spot Hogg for the first time I was extremely frustrated with the pin adjustment method...until I made a phone call and figured it out. The Spot Hogg's allow you to micro adjust those pins so that they are perfect. I'm a believer...

1- New strings is the first thing I do
2- Limbdriver Micro-Elite rest
3- Spot Hogg site
4- Tight Spot quiver

The new MBG Pure series now has the micro adjust pins. I also dont care for the "finger" adjust with MBG but can deal with it.

My MBG has micro adjust. Ordered from S&S.

The micro adjust pins are moved with that little wheel above/below each pin, correct? Once you loosen the allen screw for the pin, that pin can move if the wheel is not tight to it, keeping it in place. To me, it's a pain and there is too much room for error.

With the SH, you simply loosen one a little bit, then tighten the other one to get the pin to move as little or as much as you want. So much easier and much more accurate, IMO.

You can't go wrong with either and I am obviously nit-picking in a sense... It's the one and only thing that has bothered me about their sites...

Again, I love MGB sites, they have been great both in customer service and their performance for several years... I just like the SH better and have no vested interest in either.
