NR E/S and antlerless only archery combo permits are $410. This is the only way they are sold for NR archery. Application dates are June 1-June 30. My understanding is they award tags to all NR who apply. IL is all about the money.

Tags for the gun season are different and have to be applied for in a different application and are county/special hunt area specific. Most counties still have gun tags available when they are sold OTC post lotteries. PM me with any specific questions.

Seems like maybe you could make some time to research basic info on your own, "etc. etc."
Oh my bad, I was 100% sure I was on a forum meant for information and asking questions from people who hunt certain areas or have hunted certain areas so people like myself could get real actual information instead of cookie cutter regulation information from a basic web page. Thanks for trolling my post stats and letting me know my activity and your vast knowledge on how you troll posts and make stupid comments and not answer questions.

I’ve never put in an application for NR Archery tags in IL, I always just purchased the OTC when I got in to town to hunt.

I remember like 15 years ago Illinois put a limit on archery tags. This was at the zenith of the Outdoor channel "Big bucks everywhere in Illinois" coverage. I think it was 14,000 tags. Also the same time they raised tag prices to $400.00 plus for archery tags.

I haven't hunted there in the last ten years so I have no idea if tags are unlimited or just don't sell out anymore. I think you need a non resident hunting license and a habitat stamp in addition to the archery permit.

Gun tags are on a draw specific to a county. Residents have first draw. Non residents can't apply till the second lottery. They are another $350.00 or so.

That is what I've heard also, being in Washington I woukd like to see what the whole midwest whitetail thing is about, now I know there are probably better places to hunt but affordable is also something I have to look at as well and I'm not a guy that does the whole outfitter thing. I appreciate you guys and your replies, it really does help.

If you're interested in whitetails in the Midwest and are balancing affordable, why Illinois? Other Midwest states have cheaper NR deer tags than Illinois does.

The first year Illinois switched to a draw they sold out immediately, the next year they raised the amount of tags available enough so they never sold out again. Guys just show up and buy tags. Archery wise.

Gun tags are allocated by county and specific state owned sites.
