OTTE Gear Patrol Parka - Earth color for $155

As much as DVOR can be a pain the wahhootie, they currently have the OTTE Gear Patrol Parka listed for $155 in Earth color: https://www.dvor.com/otte-gear-patrol-parka-men-s.html

Other solids are $305, and Multicam is $400.

Usual price from OTTE is $495 for solids, and $595 for Multicam.

I have no idea what 'Earth' will look like in person, but for $155 figured that it was worth grabbing to try out!

Of course, there's the usual DVOR 'Ships in 4-6 weeks' line, which could be longer ... but hey.

Quick update: The OTTE Gear Patrol Parka arrived from DVOR.

It's definitely 'built like a tank / bomb proof / insert your not-actually-literal term here' - very solidly made, well designed, and totally functional ... I can see why some .mil types use it.

BUT, a hunting jacket it ain't, at least not for bowhunting, or for any rifle woods stalking - the thing is LOUD. LR would be fine, but I don't even feel inclined to use it just as a hiking jacket.

So I'm going to use it as an outdoor range, positional practice, and comp jacket - something this tough, and for only $155, is a perfect combination for something that's likely to get abused, and I won't feel bad about it.

So, to me, yes, it has an application, but it's not a hunting solution.

PS DVOR still has these in X Large in Tan and Grey, and 2XL in Grey. They're not listed in the brand list, but they're on the end-of-month close-out page - or direct link is here: https://www.dvor.com/otte-gear-patrol-parka-men-s.html

They're $285-295, so not the bargain the Earth color was. (Oh, and that color was fine, so no idea why they were blowing them out so cheap!)
