Was not able to bring any elk meat back from my first elk hunt two weeks ago. Antelope crossed my mind this morning coming back from the gym and I started but looking into it. Have never hunted Antelope. Thought it would be fun to run out for a long weekend and chase antelope with a rifle and try some new meat.
Trying to squeeze some research in between work at the office today. Are there any states close to Oklahoma with OTC rifle antelope opportunities? Oklahoma only allows rifle through the draw and I won’t be able to get out for archery before the two week season closes.
It looks like New Mexico offers rifle/archery/ML female and male licenses through the A-PLUS program for under $300 total for a non-resident. Is that correct? Has anyone used this program before? It looks like I just contact a landowner from the list, get an authorization, call NMDGAF, and then purchase a $300 license and go try to make it happen?
Anyone done this before?
