Didn’t see a thread, but Origin USA has their hunting line up for pre-order now. I don’t wear a lot of camo, however I like that Highland camo. Be interested in how the clothing performs.

I was going to give the stealth wool jacket a try but the 6-8 week lead time kinda killed that for me.

They also don't seem to put out a lot of products. I have been trying to give them money for a heavy hoodie for six months and they have been out of stock on XXL.

Ordered some items from them, and definitely very eager to see how they are in hand, & how they perform in the field.

Looks promising,I like the idea of us sourcing and construction. Might wait a few years myself. After years of well made athletic cut apparel from Sitka, Kuiu and first lite, I can’t help but notice the origin stuff looks a little clunky. Look at Jockos new post on instagram. The fit is just not right. Here’s to hoping they get it right.

I ordered a long sleeve shirt and the ninja hoodie thing. I wanted to get the pants/jacket but have zero need for them. I may still order them just for grins. I also got a kilo hoodie, but I think that’s just for around town.

Hoping they make solid colors in all this. Those field pants are super light weight but I’m not a fan of the camo personally. These items Seems more for out west guys not the tree stand/ saddle hunter over here in the east. But who knows that light weight stuff probably be good early season. Still hope they sale a ton of it and come out with more stuff.

As with most new product design, development, rollout etc., we're probably only seeing the first of it. I can already tell just be looking at the pants, they're NOT replacing my KUIU Guides. But as more and more interest and feedback is received, i'm hoping their focus is continuous improvement.

As I said I absolutely support the mission, but it's with A LOT of side-eye. Kip annoys me, and trumpets American jobs and manufacturing, yet "his" company was among the early pioneers of making hundreds of millions of dollars off of foreign labor. For all the grandstanding and self congratulations, have they not noticed Forloh? Probably not.

Huge Origin fan, I have lots of Gi's, boots, and hoodies from them. I love the mission, I appreciate the sentiment, and will patiently welcome their Hunt line development over the years.

I personally was born with completely formed nuanced and informed opinions and haven’t needed to change views on anything due to learning about it from experience, but if that wasn’t the case, I could imagine someone leaning into something that brought them a huge amount of success, but only realizing the downsides of that thing, or how they might prefer to have done it differently, once they got pits-deep into it. The important thing is make sure to never make money off of something that someone on the internet could find a problem with, and make sure that you never need to learn anything or change angles of approach.

Completely agree, he just needs to keep shining that bright light of virtue all the way to the bank. And, if you can have it both ways, take it! Also, if by some sheer glimmer of hope he's actually '...realizing the downsides of that thing, or how they might prefer to have done it differently, once they got pits-deep into it.', never admit it, and act like you're saving the hunting world from itself. Enjoy your new Origin gear! 😉

Was just looking at their base layers since I need new bottoms and their "Nano-Wool" is only 25% wool...? Every other wool base layer is like 60-100%...

FL is 95%
Sitka 59%
Black Ovis 100%

Black Ovis is the best value wool layers in the game, but made in china... None of the listed above manufacturers are in the states. So that's the tradeoff.

Minus33 and Duckworth are made in USA and 100% wool at the same price. So it’s not that. Just seems like their “proprietary wool” talked up on podcasts isn’t actually wool. It’s more like the almond “milk” in the dairy cooler lol

Ah that's right, I forgot about duckworth. I have some minus33 but I thought it said Cambodia or some crazy place; some of the pieces I have must be a blend?

Like I said, Kip is salesman, and i'm a sap for USA. I'll try it but likely stay with what works best...that's not china.

Still waiting on my Stow Jacket, ordered Aug 25th. Was given a 4-6 week lead time when I ordered. Will give a quick review when I actually receive it.
