Oregon Premium Deer MALHEUR RIVER (L66)

I drew this tag this year and I am pumped to be able to take my 300 RUM out during the rut. I have hunted this unit before, mostly above the town of Juntura and we have seen some great bucks there. I got a decent 4x3 last year. I was wondering if anyone has had some experience in that area during November? Thoughts on wintering grounds and what not. Any thoughts/advice are much appreciated!

I grew up in Adrian (Nyssa area) my family still lives there and apparently there's some thing going on that's killing the deer left and right farmers are finding them dead out in the fields.... Real bummer my dad just drew that tag this year to. Idk how wide spread it is but the way the crow flies you still have some miles between Adrain and juntura either way hope ya have a good hunt there's some monster bucks in that whole area

That is what I thought as well. Maybe he drew the regular tag...

pretty sure its one premium per species/per unit. You can get these in addition to the regular draw.
Have not heard of any additional tags other than the prem draws

I figure you guys need to put a little thought into what he's saying. It's pretty obvious, to me anyway, his dad drew the regular 166 tag and will have one of the 1870 tags issued, and the OP drew the premium tag. Pretty simple

Our group shot this nice one on the second day. I am counting the days until Nov... Not sure if I would shoot this one at the beginning of my hunt in...
