OR Crocodile Gaiter Circumference

Anyone have the low down on the circumference of the XL or XXL crocodile gaiters? I have smallish 13" calves and wear size 11 boots and the large gaiters fit me fine with 18" circ at the top and 16" in the middle. I have a buddy with big 19" calves that wants to order a pair. Will the XL fit him or does he need to go XXL?

The XL should work. I have 17" calves and the XL's fit me a tad loose.

Thanks for the info Brock. Sounds like you think there's room for a 19" calf then. Would you mind measuring the XLs if you think about it? Side to side at the mid point when opened up and I can subtract 2" for the Velcro overlap. Thanks!

Tape measure is laying where the gaiter would be at the fattest part of your calf.

If the XL is still too small try the Expedition Crocodile gaiters. They are of larger circumference to accommodate heavy expedition grade layers. Might be another option for your buddy

Exactly. My calves are a tad over 19" and I can get them into my XL Crocs if I don't have heavy pants on. But wearing layers or heavier pants, I have a pair of Expedition Crocs in XL and they're roomy. I got a pair of L Expedition Crocs and they fit nicely over layers.
