Looking to sell or trade my spotter for lack of use. It is an Opticron HR66 ED with the SDLV2 eye piece. Both are made in Japan and the spotter is angled. This kit sold for $1200 new. I have owned the Nikon 50, Razor 50, and Pentax 65 and I preferred the Opticron to all
Of those including my buddies Razor 65 (previous model). Reason for selling is I don’t use it. Average 1 time per year sometimes not even that much. Check out the reviews on the bird forum.

Asking $750 Tyd lower 48 but would be willing to trade for some binoculars. Prefer Meopta or Swaro 15x to try or maybe Swaro 8x30 or 8x32 EL even if I have to include some cash.

There is a small scratch on the objective lens. Very light. I just sent pics to Opticron but they said although they could replace it does not effect the image. I agreed with them I can’t see anything but want to disclose.

If you want a good scope without breaking the bank this is a good option. The eye piece alone typically sells for around $450.

I was just reading a review some place vs this and the Kowa 663 and they felt the Opticron was better.

Forgot to add I will include the phone skope that is specific to this eye piece.

I think folks here just don't know how good these Opticron scopes really are, which is a shame. I have a 77 on the way and if yours was a straight scope I would have bought it already. Image quality is outstanding and they are just really well built scopes. The birding community in Europe and particularly GB are very fond of Opticron scopes but they just don't have many distributors here in the U.S. yet.

Good luck and I hope someone takes advantage of this excellent deal.

I agree plus it is made in Japan so you know you are getting that should be decent. I got lucky in that Frank D who posts on Bird Forum and some what works for Opticron lives close to me so I got to test out some of the Opticron units before I purchased and was really impressed.

Free bump. I bought one of these last year used on the Rslide. It continues to impress me everytime I take it out. It completly blows away anything else even near this price point. Small, light, and awesome little unit.

Yeah I think they are a good deal. Opticron also makes a MM4 60mm that uses same eye piece. It is significantly lighter than the 66 but still a good view just give up some light gathering capability. I believe you can use the same eye piece for the 60, 66, and 77 bodies so could cover a wide range of conditions. The bodies go relatively cheap so for not a lot of money could have a good scope for anything out west.
