Looking at Holosuns for a turkey gun. It will be going on a .410 single shot (either a Stevens 301 or a Henry, still deciding on this). The Holosun website is a bit intimidating because there are so many options to choose from, and even multiple variations of the same model. But I think I have it narrowed down to these two: 507 or 509. As best as I can tell these are very similar other than one having an open-emitter (507) and the other having a closed-emitter (509).

Any opinions on Holosuns in general? (yes, I know they are made in China)

Are these two good choices for turkey hunting? Which would be the best?

Are there other Holosuns I should be considering?

How important is a closed-emitter for turkey hunting? I do see the 507 (open-emitter) recommended quite a bit for this application, so I'm assuming the closed-emitter is not a must have.

Feel free to suggest other brands of red dots as well, but at this time I am leaning towards trying a Holosun.

Thank you!

I run a 507comp on mine. You can adjust the halo and it gets pretty close to pattern size at a few distances.

Like it and haven’t had an issue. I have 3 other holosun sights. For red dots/holographic they are by far my favorite.
