I was recently presented a good deal on a short action X-bolt. Thinking about picking it up, but began asking myself, why not just get the X-bolt 2 as it is supposed to have a better trigger, smoother action, and adjustable stock. I had an original X-bolt a few years ago and didn’t think the stock, action, or trigger were bad.

Anyone have an X-bolt and an X-bolt 2 and can tell me if the changes on the 2 are significantly better than the original?

I have an xbolt 6.8W Speed SR and it is excellent. Very accurate and ergos, fit, finish great. I think the xbolt 2 added a bunch of adjustability to the stock and improved the trigger so if that is important may find it worth it. I put in a mcarbo spring on trigger which was a cheap upgrade. I have not noticed any issue with action except I originally had a scope with a bigger adjustment knob on side and the cases would hit it and go back in the chamber. I did not want to use higher rings to fix so put a different scope on without the big external turrent. An adjustable comb would have allowed the higher rings and still get cheek weld
