OnX Membership Question

My renewal date is coming up in a few days and I'm already committed to Onx since I have so many waypoints and data saved with them.
Was wondering if anyone has any experience in cancelling their membership before the renewal deadline and signing back up again with a promo code? I was thinking of doing this but don't want to lose all my data either. If it comes down to the discounted price with none of my old data or sticker price but I keep my data I'll choose the latter every time.
Please let me know if you have any experience with this subject.
Thanks.

You should be fine but you can call them and ask. I called and asked when I purchased the 50 state version and activated via a promo code. I already had a single state that was valid. They told me as long as it was all under the same account, all my waypoints would be there and they were.

You will not lose any waypoints, tracks, or other markups you have marked if you cancel your membership. Those are all linked with your email address/account and is not necessarily tied to the membership.
The only thing you will lose access to when you cancel is that access to the public/private land and other layer information for the brief time that your membership has lapsed before you sign up again.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

You can, and should, be saving your data offline on a regular basis.
What method are you using to safe info like onX waypoints offline? I'm about as tech savvy as fred flintstone so any recommendations to keep them safe and organized would be appreciated.
