Like the title says I am searching for opinions on gaiters. I own a pair of Kenetreks that have seen better days and I'm looking to get something better. I am looking at either Sitka or Kuiu. The use will be for guiding in rifle seasons in Colorado as well as third rifle for deer. I haven't worn gaiters during bow season. Haven't seen the need in the area that I hunt. I own multiple pieces from each company and they are all good pieces. Your opinions would be awesome!

The Sitka gaiters have yet to fail me in the feild. I ran the Kenetreks for a couple of years and switched to the Sitka ones for the luxury of having a zipper rather than just the velcro. They were pretty stiff at first but broke in nicely. So far they have been pretty bullet proof. If you need a pair feel free to shoot me a message and ill set ya up.

I'm sure either Kuiu or Sitka would be great. The Kuiu gaiters are awesome. The best I've used. Much better than the Kenetreks. I have seen the Sitka but have not used them.

Personally, I use Outdoor Research gaiters. You can get them in multicam (call the company) and I've used the OR Expedition Crocs for years. They have a field replaceable instep strap (they come with an extra set) have a 1000d reinforced section on the inside of the legs, and are just great gaiters for anything. I used the same pair for over 13 years, and just this year decided to replace them, because they finally have enough crampon gashes to have made it worth it. I'm a fan of Kuiu and I'm sure Sitka has some nice ones, but OR has been making gaiters for a very long time. Great company and great gaiters.

My buddy's Sitka gaiters got shredded on our goat hunt last year. My OR's have been going strong with severe abuse for 4 seasons now.

I've only had one pair of gators...OUtdoor Reaearch. They work and are durable. Can't comment on any other brands.

Used the kenes for several seasons, they did fine and would last one full season went through three sets. Bought kuiu and is an upgrade in staying dry, buckled, durability and in upright position. One set has lasted two years with over a hundred days in the field. I have another set ready for October.

I'd look at the Gore-Tex Outdoor Research. I've never had a pair of gaiters before last year. Everyone here said to get OR.

I ended up going with the Kuiu Yukon gaitors in Vias with a 20% discount on their site. Excited for them to come in and put them to use this hunting season. It is coming up quick!

I had the Sitka gaiters and switched to Kuiu when I sold my Sitka pants so my camo would match. In my opinion the Sitka Gaiters are ten times better. I think the zip destroys velcro. It is much easier to get the Sitka gaiters on because of the zipper. The kuiu are ok but if Sitka made solid colors I would go back.

The Cabela's by my house finally got some in stock and I was able to look at them on Saturday. They look heavy duty. If I don't like the Kuiu ones I'll switch. I just made the switch from Kuiu to mostly Sitka. Still have Kuiu rain gear, belt, socks, and just recently got their gatiors.

Everyone has their preferences. I like the zipper. It is much easier for me to get snug so my feet do not get wet when crossing streams. I have had no issues so far with the Kuiu but would rather have some solid Sitkas.
