Olympus TG-4 Digiscoping

I did some searches and couldn't find the old threads that talked about this....

I have an Olympus TG-4 and a Swaro ATS 65mm.

Can somebody point me in the direction of the adapter I need to slide under the eyepiece for digiscoping?

In this photo you can see the lens adapter under the rubber eye guard, I leave that there and twist the camera on and off. On my ATX I screw off the eye guard and use a step ring screwed on to the eye piece. On my ATM the eye piece is different and the rubber does not screw off so this is ow I did it. The trick is the 2 lens need to be as close as possible.

I used a tines up adapter for mine....works well.

Need to get the aftermarket ring adapter to thread the tines up onto it as well as an adapter from that ring to the tines up. But overall it works well.

Here is some sheep roughly 2 miles away I am videoing through my spotter you might be about to make them out on the little screen:


All the pics and video in this youtube video were shot with the TG-1 and all the digiscoping was the TG-1 using the tines up.

I liked the idea of the Tines Up, but was apprehensive to glue the ring to my camera, I didn't realize with the TG-4 I didn't have to.

I think I'll try Stids $20 method first, but may go the Tines Up way for my Vortex Spotter just to try both ways.

Vortex makes an adapter for their spotters.

Yeah no need to glue a ring to your camera. The same ring threads onto the Tg-1 thru Tg-4.

The tines up adapter is awesome!!! The pairing of that with the tg4 is the main reason I went with the camera. As Luke said the adapter fits all tg1-4 models. I'm not sure what he meant by having to get another adapter. The one I got from tines up is all you need in one piece that is easy to keep track of. It has the piece that screws into the front lens bezel on the camera on one end and just slips over the outer rubber eyepiece of my Leica spotter on the other. Their models are spotting scope/binocular specific.

It will work on any round eyepiece including all of the Kowa's.

Hi Stid2677. What size step up ring are you using to go from the CLA-T01 adapter on your TG to your ATX? When I measure my ATX it looks like it would be 50.8 mm, but I can only find rings 40.5 to 49mm or 40.5 to 52mm.
