Oklahoma Public Land Spring Turkey

Anyone ever chase Thunder Chickens in OK? Was looking at trying my luck at Atoka WMA or McGee Creek WMA, just looking to see if anyone has any insight to the quality of these WMA, or maybe a suggestion for another one. Trying to stay in SE or SW OK, just for driving purposes.

We hunted Black Kettle in west OK years ago. A lot of birds but a lot of hunters too. Despite the pressure,We managed to fill 5 tags out of 6.

I've hunted Sandy Sanders and Ft Supply on public with good success but both are west. Three Rivers and Honobia WMAs encompass 300K acres and both have dedicated Turkey Walk In areas. I've not hunted it but have thought about it as an OYOA for several years. It's beautiful country up there. I would consider skipping opening weekend and hunting during the week to avoid hunting pressure. These will be Eastern Birds.

Drt, you're the man! I thought for sure I was gonna have to give up on easterns!
