Super impressed with the weight, design, fit, and the high camp bags I bought.

2 hours of searching later, what in the name of God are all of the parts for on this thing? Not a single video from kifaru on how to actually use this, what a "3 bar slider" is, what little triangle shaped pieces of plastic are, how to attach the bag to the frame....

Is there an archived link somewhere I'm missing when this was actually explained? I haven't even gotten to adjusting the frame to me, I'm just trying to attach the bag at this point.

Ideas?

Haha, there is a little bit of a learning curve. A lot of the attachment points are for things you don't have. For instance, the triangles are for the old Cargo Chair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ES366rOIxQ. A 3 bar slider is also known as a triglide. On Kifaru packs these are used for 2 things: attaching things by inserting them through a common loop (shown at the beginning of the video above) or PALS and sliding along the shoulder pads to adjust the load lifter or chest strap: https://youtu.be/3gomjnc26ig?t=3m5s. The last thing that you really need to know about is the K-connector which is what connects the load lifter to the frame on the new frame after sliding the pack over the top: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEU5JMIOpIE Depending on what pack you have, the compression straps connect to the frame with either a K-Clip or just a female slotted buckle.

This will get you started on installing your pack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLIszRyxNkk

Haha, that would probably help. I think I have the bag on now, but it's like reassembling an engine and having a bunch if spare parts when you're "done"....

Ladder locks that seem to be mounted backwards, all sorts of straps that seem to be for compression with nowhere to go, tabs all over the place that are probably useful but make no sense, etc.

Not gonna lie....that's why I went a different direction with my pack

Me too. It was also a reason I avoided AR's for a while. I've now built two AR's, including machining the lowers myself. I might, and I stress might, be smart enough to try a Kifaru pack.

Kifaru's reputation stands for itself but just being a new Kifaru user I can definitely see where they could nix some of the old youtube videos (or maybe put them in a separate playlist for older versions of packs) and shoot some new stuff and have it right on the home page. It seems most companies are doing this now. It is awesome how available Aron makes himself and the other Kifaru crew is great as well, but this stuff should be a lot easier to find I agree.

Eff apple. I'm not retyping all of that. It was thanks to everyone.

Oh, and I can't attach photos either.

On both sides of the frame, on the sides, just above the lumbar pad are ladder locks....facing forward? Like, to lash my belly I guess?

On the highcamp, at the lower part of the bag are horizontal straps. They pseudo-line up with the ladder locks I mentioned, but not really and like I said the ladder locks face the wrong direction to use them for this. Any ideas what the horizontal straps are for?

Yeah, things don't line up exactly for all bags/frame combos. Use the closest attachment point and if it's in-between always choose the higher one. Exo angles all of their compression straps upward in the theory that it helps the pack ride better. If you want to email me some pictures I can look at them and if I don't know I'll upload them.

You guys are a great help. PM me your email and I'll zip some photos to you. I have two bags, but they're the highcamp 4800 and 7000 so luckily they're the same.

although I don't have a kifaru set up yet...I plan to, and understand your situation. ive been watching videos on a few of the bags trying to decide, and at first I liked the nomad, but after like 10 different setups, hooking this there, moving that strap here, reconnecting this here...blah blah....I may just go with the EMR2 and be done with it. One bag for damn near everything...LOL.

Oh man, the highcamp is about as simple as it gets....

I'll make a video when I figure it out, but it seems like this would be basic info provided. I'm terrified to think about adjusting the shoulder straps for fit.

I have always used the plastic triangles for the top of my grab it. Might be wrong but works great for me. The high camp bag was easy to put on. I just ran the load lifters through the slots on the top of the bag and connected it on the bottom with the little metal thingies. Also connected it to the frame in the middle of the bag.

So it turns out that his question relates to the ladder locks for the delta straps on the frame for use with no pack. But it doesn't appear that he has any delta straps, did the old single row PALS belt not have delta straps?

Bluto, for your reference here is a video talking about delta/stabilizer straps. Can you comment on if you are indeed missing these? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FO7dbxqKTlQ
