Can anyone recommend an outfitter/ranch to hunt pigs with in Northern California? I’ve heard of Hillside Hog Haven in the past but cannot find any information online regarding them. I’d prefer to go unguided and just pay for access if possible. Also I’d like the opportunity to use either my bow or rifle but I’m not stuck on either one, I’d happily just hunt with my bow. I’d appreciate any information anyone may have. Thanks,

Hoss Hogg is in Red Bluff and they have hog hunts, although expensive. Lake Sonoma has archery hog hunts, but the pigs are very scarce. If you don't mind driving, Tejon ranch is one of the best and easiest pay to play hog hunts out there. They are semi-guided archery hunts at a reasonable rate. Maverick Outfitters in Cottonwood also had great hog hunts, but I don't know if they are still doing them. Mavericks is rifle or bow.

I too want to go on an archery hog hunt in nor Cal, I'm surprised ranchers aren't paying us to take care of the destructive (and tasty) hogs

RosinBag, thank you for the info. To do the semi-guided archery hunts at Tejon do you still need to put together a group of 6 or 8 guys? Dave, it is hard to believe there aren’t more opportunities in the Napa/Sonoma region to do a reasonable cost hunt.

There is no where to do those types of hunts in Napa / Sonoma, it is all private property and there are not any outfitters that work those areas that I know of. Tejon offers "Porkapoolooza" twice I year I believe and they open up one half of their property to individual hunters or groups. You would have to check their website. I know people have put together Tejon hunts via Rokslide. You just need about six to seven other people and agree to a weekend. It is like a mini rondy for pig hunting. If you want easy, Hoss Hogg, but I think they are nearly $900 bucks. several other outfitters in Paso Robles area, but my experience is the are "supplemental feeding," which is baiting for the most part. You can call Bruce with Maverick Outfitters and he may have some good recommendations for you for Northern California.

Wild Pig Hunting Inc (George Mavrakis) has 20,000 private acres behind Lake Sonoma. I think you can do a weekend group hunt out there for $450 if you have 10 people.

A few of us were talking about it last weekend at the Lake Sonoma norcal rondy, and possibly trying to set something like that up in the future.

There's a post about it in the General section I believe.

RosinBag, thank you for all the information. Nickstone, I have actually hunted with Wild Pig Hunting inc and I wouldn’t hunt with him again.
