Dan is an incredible guy. Incredible energy. Incredible storyteller. I hope you guys enjoy it. he's not known at all in the elk world
I’m doing a series of these and will scatter them out throughout this next year. These are conversations with people that started from a blank slate, got into elk hunting, figured it out primarily by trial and error, but also good research and analysis, learning from content on the internet some too. But really in the end, they’ve done it themselves. And they’ve been successful. And they’re unknown.
I’ve grown to be a little bit exhausted by the same couple dozen well-known elk hunters just circling through everyone’s podcasts over and over. And yes, I’ve been in there and part of that. But I do think it creates a broader elk hunting echo chamber where we all get stuck talking about the same tactics, the same strategies, the same ideas.
When you have conversations with folks who are in it and figuring it out organically, there are things that come out that I learn from. Things I’ve forgotten. Things I realize I need to tune myself up on. All of that. So selfishly, I really enjoy these conversations. But at the same time, I actually think they’re probably way underrated.
appreciate you guys’ thoughts on this style of interview
