WE need a new deck of cards…The deck has been stacked against us for too long. I just hope their vetting process prohibits appointing anti-hunting commissioners. The landowner seat should be New Mexico residents who are family ranchers, farmers not engaged in Outfitting. I have reservations about having a Tribal member on the Commission because they will always be in opposition to anything that isn’t in the best interests of their own Tribe. In addition, the State has little control of the hunting, fishing, and wildlife management on Tribal lands.

Deb Haaland is running for Governor. She looks like a better choice than what we have now. However I am not convinced she is a good choice for promoting hunting opportunity. Seems like hunting and fishing are always caught in the middle. But to effectively manage game species for hunting opportunity, we should not allow a non-game species to take priority over a game species. The amount of excise taxes everyone pays on sporting goods, is divided among the states depending on how many hunting and fishing licenses each state sells..

Yup…either her or a Republican that will sell off state lands, give extraction priority over hunting, and endorse Outfitters.
